The 2023 edition of Times Higher Education’s (THE) Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings, which this year ranks over 30 Nigerian universities, has been published.
Covenant University is ranked number 7 in sub-Saharan Africa and number 1 in Nigeria by Times Higher Education.
Nigeria’s Covenant University is ranked first, and it is ranked seventh in sub-Saharan Africa.
The British publication claimed that in order to give thorough and fair comparisons across three important areas—teaching, research, and social impact—it employed precisely calibrated measures.
Results from the first student survey in sub-Saharan Africa, which gathered comments from more than 20,000 students, are included in the data.
According to a recent article by PM News, Convenant University in Ota, Ogun state, tops the list of universities in Nigeria. Benson Idahosa University in Edo state comes in second and the nearby Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta (FUNAAB), third.
In the list of all sub-Saharan institutions, the institutions came in at positions 7, 26, and 30.In the overall list of sub-Saharan African university rankings, the universities were rated 7th, 26th, and 30th, respectively. Nigeria is the nation with the greatest representation overall, with 37 listed institutions, whereas South Africa only has one institution in the top 10.
